São Paulo – Saudi Arabia’s king Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud accepted on Sunday (17) the credentials of the incoming Brazilian ambassador to Riyadh, Marcelo Della Nina, at the Al-Yamamah Palace, in the national capital. In diplomacy, the presentation of credentials to the head of state is the formal action that renders official a diplomat’s status in the country at hand.
Sunday also saw the monarch accept credentials from the ambassadors of Sierra Leone, Vietnam, Georgia, Mozambique, Austria, Pakistan, Sudan, Kuwait, Kenya, Mauritania, Chad and Bulgaria, government news outlet Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
SPA said Salman welcomed the ambassadors, extended his compliments to the heads of state of their countries, and wished the diplomats success in their mission of enhancing their nations’ ties with Saudi Arabia.
