São Paulo – The Saudi national under-20 team arrives in Brazil on Wednesday (22) to get ready for the category’s world cup, to begin in July, in Colombia. The team under coach Khalid Al Koroni will be based in the city of Atibaia, in the interior of São Paulo, and will play friendly games against Brazilian teams and also other national teams, including the Brazilian. The 26 players in the Saudi team will come in the company of the technical committee and will be in the country up to July 14th. The friendly practice match with the Brazilian national under-20 team should take place on the 12th, at Granja Comary, in Rio de Janeiro.
Saudi Arabia will have its first match in the cup in Colombia on July 31st, against Croatia. The Arab country’s group also includes Nigeria and Guatemala. The Saudi team will try to advance beyond the first phase of the tournament for the first time.
As part of the training for the championship, the Saudi national team will also play friendly matches against the Bolivian and Uruguayan national under-20 teams and with the São Paulo and Corinthians under-20 teams, as well as the main Bragantino and Paulínia teams. The Brazilian team will have its opening match in the World Cup on July 29th, against Egypt.
