São Paulo – The real estate sector in Saudi Arabia should grow between 5% and7% a year up to 2012, according to a study disclosed recently by the Global Investment House, an investment bank headquartered in Kuwait. The same report shows that participation of the sector in the economy of the country should reach 7.2% this year, against 6.8% five years ago.
The estimates are based on the strong housing demand in the country and on the launch of large commercial and hotel projects. Just to give an idea, according to Riyadh Exhibitions Company, another 1.5 million new housing units will be necessary by 2015 to supply the growing local population. Riyadh Exhibitions is responsible for Saudi Build, a building sector fair to take place in the Saudi capital.
