São Paulo – Saudi Arabia will automatically extend the validity of residence permits for expatriates in addition to extending the validity of visit visas and exit and re-entry visas. The measure was issued by the General Directorate of Passports of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Finance, the Arab country’s official news agency SPA reported.
Without collecting no fees or charges, the action will extend visas for all expatriates until August 31. This comes in implementation of the directives of king Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. SPA reported that this extension comes among the efforts of the kingdom’s government to deal with the economic effects of COVID-19 pandemic. It also falls within precautionary and preventive measures that guarantee the safety of citizens and residents as the process will be carried out electronically.
The extension will be in cooperation with Saudi Arabia’s National Information Center without the need to visit the departments of passports. The first step will be extending the validity of residence permits as well as exit and re-entry visas for residents who are in the countries from which entry is suspended as a result of coronavirus until August 31.
Then it will extend the validity of visit visas for visitors who are in the countries from which entry is suspended for the same reason until the aforementioned date.
