São Paulo – The Agricultural Export Seminar (AgroEx) was established to stimulate Brazilian producers to export their products. The 22nd edition of the event, which should serve to transfer strategic information and promote debates about the rules and practices of the international market, should take place from April 27th to 28th at the Federal University of Viçosa, in the state of Minas Gerais.
The coffee and milk productive chains should be covered with emphasis during the talks given by technicians and professionals in the area. This is because the products are considered potentially economically useful for the region.
"This will be the first time we are going to take the event to an academic audience. We will be investing in the formation of future agents to act in foreign trade," pointed out the director of the Agribusiness International Promotion Department at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply, Eduardo Sampaio Marques, in a press statement issued by the Ministry press department.
According to Sampaio, students should have an opportunity to make contact with several questions that are pertinent to the international agenda of agricultural products and with the export support policy. "Our intention is to establish partnerships with important universities in the country and to promote the seminar with students at least once a year," he said.
Apart from the academic audience, AgroEx should also be turned to farmers, cooperatives, associations, unions, agricultural industries, distributors, exporters, agribusiness support institutions and potential exporters.
The event is an initiative of the International Agribusiness Relations Secretariat at the Ministry of Agriculture. The partners in the project are the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), the Federation of Agriculture of the State of Minas Gerais (Faemg) and Antonio Ernesto de Salvo Institute (Inaes).
