São Paulo – The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNTWO) and the World Tourism and Travel Council (WTTC) are promoting the seminar “Seizing tourism market opportunities in times of rapid change,” on June 5th and 6th, in the Dead Sea, Jordan.
During the two days of the event, there will be five panels, featuring representatives of tourism organizations based in Jordan and out of the country, such as WTTC president and CEO David Scowsill, UNTWO secretary general Taleb Rifai, the Jordanian Tourism Board managing director Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat, among others.
Representatives of international tourism companies will also be in attendance, such as the Emirates Airline senior vice president Frederic Bardin, the Royal Jordanian Airlines marketing director Anwar Atalla, and the president of luxury travel company Abercombie & Kent, Geoffrey Kent.
Panel topics will include “What is happening in the global economy,” “How are consumers’ needs evolving and how can they be reached,” “How can growth expectations of the Aviation sector contribute,” “How can destinations seize the opportunities afforded,” “What are the conditions for promoting successful foreign direct investments in times of uncertainty.”
The seminar will be held amidst celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Petra, a Jordanian archaeological site that was been declared a World Heritage Site in 1985, by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco). The location is the country’s leading tourism spot and one of the most famous in the world.
