São Paulo – The seminar Brazil and North Africa: opportunities for agribusiness and food security, scheduled to take place next Thursday (29) and Friday (30), has been postponed. The new date is yet to be confirmed. The event was to be held at the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp) and organized by the Brazil-Africa Institute, with support from the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
According to information from the organizers, the date has been changed because some of the African lecturers would be unable to travel to Brazil in late January.

Proposed topics include Brazilian businessmen becoming involved in farming in Africa, agricultural demand, international partnerships, fostering of exports, infrastructure investment, enhancing productivity, and financing alternatives.
Brazil has investments in African countries such as Sudan. The Pinesso conglomerate, from Brazil’s Mato Grosso state, owns cotton and soy plantations. Delegates from Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Egypt, Mauritania and Tunisia have been invited to attend specific meetings on attracting investment into their countries. Major Brazilian food companies are also expected to attend.
