Brasília – In September, the federal government registered BRL 94.77 billion (USD 30.08 billion) in tax revenues. The inflation-adjusted result is a decline of 8.27% over the same month of 2015. It’s the weakest result for the month since 2009. The data was made public this Thursday (27) by the Federal Revenue Service.
Year-to-date, the government received BRL 911.951 billion (USD 289.545 billion) in tax revenues, an amount slightly better when compared to the same period of last year when it registered BRL 901 billion (USD 286.06 billion), but that actually signals a decline in real terms of 7.54% when adjusted to inflation. In this comparison, it’s the worst result since 2010.
The economic downturn continues to strongly impact tax revenues due to the decline in households’ purchasing power, said the Federal Revenue Services.
