São Paulo – The Executive Committee of the Cocoa Harvest Plan, a company connected to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, is going to work on the establishment of agroindustries for the cocoa sector in the states of Bahia and Maranhão, in northeastern Brazil, Espírito Santo, in the Southeast, Pará, Amazonas and Roraima, in the North, and Mato Grosso, in the Midwest.
The organization intends to implement production incubators to teach producers how to process and use the whole of the cocoa beans. The objective is to generate more income for producers.
A Ceplac technical advisor is going to guide farmers from the harvest to trade including the identification of potential markets and the kind of high quality product, also targeting the foreign market.
