São Paulo – Agribusiness exports from the state of Minas Gerais reached a record high in September, according to figures disclosed by the government of the state of Minas Gerais. Export revenues reached US$ 975.7 million, a 2.64% increase over August. Agribusiness sales accounted for 25% of the state’s exports during the period.
Coffee export revenues hit US$ 581.7 million, 11.2% more than in August. The export volume was de 111,800 tonnes, a 9.3% increase over the previous month. There was also a significant increase in exports of soy oil, from US$ 2.1 million to US$ 17.1 million.
From January to September 2011, exports also reached a record high. Revenues during these nine months stood at US$ 6.9 billion, 31.9% more than in the same period of last year. Coffee accounted for US$ 4 billion.
