São Paulo – The government of São Paulo will have a space in the Brazilian pavilion at Expo 2020, which will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from October 2021 to March 2022. So said the Executive Secretary for International Relations of the State of São Paulo, ambassador Affonso Massot (pictured above), during the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries hosted by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC).
Expo 2020 is a world exhibition that was scheduled to take place this year but was postponed due to the pandemic. According to Massot, investment opportunities in the state for the 2021/2022 biennium, related to sustainable projects in areas such as infrastructure, privatizations and constructions will be disclosed in the space. “We would like to study them with stakeholders, entrepreneurs and entities from the Arab world,” he said.
According to Massot, governor João Doria is an enthusiast of relations with Arab countries. “He believes we can expand the diversity of products within this trade relationship and not just their volume,” he said. The ambassador recalled that the governor has already visited the UAE and Qatar, and it was his determination to open the Investe São Paulo’s office in Dubai earlier this year.
