São Paulo – Bahrain will host a surf park on its southwest coast. The project by Edamah, the real estate arm of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, and GFH Financial Group had its cornerstone laid, according to a report published by the country’s state news agency BNA on Thursday (10). The Bahrain Surf Park – Club Hawaii Experience will be located in Bilaj Al Jazayer, covering 52,000 square meters, and aims to attract tourists for surfing experiences.
It will be the first surf park in the Middle East and North Africa to use Spanish Wavegarden Cove technology, which can generate up to 1,000 waves per hour, according to the BNA report. The Wavegarden Cove space can accommodate up to 90 surfers per hour, of all levels. The park will also include the Club Hawaii Experience Academy, offering surf training, food and beverage outlets, a terrace, shop, cabanas, event space, and a private entertainment area for corporate or school groups.
“Bahrain Surf Park – Club Hawaii Experience is a landmark initiative that reflects Bahrain’s vision to invest in innovative developments aimed at enhancing the tourism and entertainment sectors. It also aligns with Edamah’s mission to deliver integrated and sustainable communities that enhance the quality of life in the Kingdom of Bahrain”, said Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Mumtalakat and Chairman of Edamah.
