São Paulo – The Syrian-Lebanese Hospital, based in São Paulo’s Bela Vista neighbourhood, will inaugurate its first external unit next Saturday (6th) in the Itaim Bibi neighbourhood. The new unit is going to include an Image Diagnosis Centre, an Oncology Centre and a Human Reproduction Centre.
A total of 35 million reals (US$ 20.5 million) were invested in building the new unit, an eight-storey building covering 4,300 square metres on Joaquim Floriano street. In addition to the centres, the premises will offer a day-hospital for surgical procedures, with four rooms, medical practices and individual chemotherapy rooms.
By 2012, the Syrian-Lebanese should invest another 600 million reals (US$ 352 million) in expanding its current headquarters, including new facilities and the building of three other towers. The healthcare institution is philanthropic, was founded and is maintained by initiative of the Arab community.
