The event will co-occur in Curitiba from July 7, in a hybrid format for all of Brazil, with films previously unreleased in the country and emphasizing female production. 11 Arab features and three shorts will be screened.

The event will screen 30 fiction films and documentaries from 16 African countries via the SESC Digital platform from October 1 through 10. The 13 Arab movies come from Sudan, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, and Tunisia.
Exhibition ‘Tarikh al-Brasil’ by Brazilian photographer Marcelo Schellini showcases the African Arab community living around mosques in São Paulo. The photos can be seen at the São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound from next Saturday, May 1st.
The free event will run from March 12 (Friday) to 22, including Moroccan and Egyptian feature documentaries and an Egyptian short fiction film.
From September 10 to December 2, Brazil African Film Festival will screen movies from eight different countries in the Cine África project on Cinema em Casa com SESC’s website.
Malak El Araby is one of the ten African women who have won the Ladima Foundation Short Film Competition. Films up to 2 minutes long are being shown with Portuguese subtitles supplied by the Brazilian-based African Short Film Festival.
Debate about the production in the region took place at the African Film Festival. The feature film ‘Sofia,’ directed by the Moroccan filmmaker Meryem Benm’Barek, was part of the program.
The 4th edition of the festival runs from July 10 to 17 at CineSesc in São Paulo. Out of the 24 movies from 14 different countries, four are Arabs, from Tunisia, Egypt and Morocco.
