The auction took place at the São Paulo stock exchange this Thursday (18) and granted 15 airports to the private sector. Spanish company Aena bought São Paulo’s Congonhas Airport, the second busiest in Brazil.

Infrastructure minister confirmed the airport’s withdrawal from this year’s round of auctions, but it will be auctioned along with Galeão next year.
In an auction on Thursday (15), two blocks of airports in the state of São Paulo will now be operated by private companies.
Four public hearings will be held to disclose details regarding 22 Brazilian airports.
