The secretary-general of the Union of Arab Chambers, Khaled Hanafy, talked about the work of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce with representatives of the institution’s office in Dubai.
Executives of the institution were received at the chambers of commerce and industry of Ajman and Sharjah as part of an agenda that aims to get closer to all country regions.
The diplomat, who worked as secretary-general of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as Brazil’s ambassador to Quito during the Ecuador-Peru peace talks, took office as president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, 22. His main challenges include moving forward with the modernization of the institution and increasing trade with Arab countries.
The organization is working with a new, enhanced structure since the beginning of this month to support projects brought about by the current global situation, and to roll out strategic plans underpinned by a fresh organizational culture.
The Arab Brazilian Chamber is expecting over 1,000 Arabs and Brazilians to attend the Brazil & Arab Countries Economic Forum on April 14 in São Paulo. Themed ‘The future is now,’ the event will cover Food Security, Business 4.0, Sustainable Development and Global Movements.
