In a lecture at the Arab Brazilian Chamber on Friday (1), Brazil’s Environment minister Joaquim Leite expressed interest in attracting investment from the Arab countries for carbon-credit generating projects. The government will present a framework for this market next month.

The delegation includes some of the largest transport companies in the country and aims to identify innovative technologies and practices in the Arab world to boost the national industry. The mission is promoted by the CNT System and organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber.

The segment has seen a recovery from 2020 in Brazil. Although the country has historically been an eyewear importer, local brands have worked with Brazilian design in pursuit of breaking into markets, including the Arabs.

This year, Brazil reached the record-breaking mark of over 11,000 gigawatts of operational power from photovoltaic solar sources. The increase in the price of electricity bills is one of the factors that boosted the demand for clean energy, such as solar.
