In March, 340,500 tons were shipped, a volume 9.5% lower than in the same month of 2018. The UAE and Qatar, however, purchased more, and the average price increased.
A volume of 281,800 tons were shipped, 14.7% less than in the first month of 2018. Revenue-wise, sales declined 12.9%.
New criteria for halal slaughtering is one of the main reasons. Saudi Arabia’s and Kuwait’s imports slid 28% and 11%, respectively. The United Arab Emirates increased purchases in 7%.
