Already cemented in the Americas, the Brazilian children’s footwear manufacturer has invested in foreign trade staff teams to get closer to clients in the Middle East and North Africa.
Besides manufacturing and selling children’s footwear, the company has decided to franchise in and outside Brazil.
According to Abicalçados, Brazilian footwear exports in the first four months of the year slid 31.9% in revenue. Average price, however, rose.
Brazilian footwear exports plunged 31.3% in volume and 22.8% in revenue in January and February. Competition with China and the economic situation in second leading buyer Argentina drove down the results.
There was a 10.8% drop in revenue and a 16.6% decrease in volume from 2022, according to sector association data. In December, Libya imported USD 730,000.
The Brazilian footwear industry shipped 102 million pairs abroad year to date through October. The recorded drop reflects the global slowdown and Chinese competition, said the sector association.

The Saudi market imported 119,000 pairs of shoes from Brazil last month. It was the only Arab country on the list of main destinations.

9.3 million pairs were exported in the eighth month of the year, generating a 28.2% increase in volume and 34.9% in revenue, totaling USD 78 million. No Arab country is among the top 20 destinations for Brazilian footwear from January to August.
