The diplomat of Syrian origin was reelected for the 2023-2024 biennium as president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. He will lead the entity alongside four vice presidents, a treasurer and 12 statutory directors.

The diplomat, who worked as secretary-general of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as Brazil’s ambassador to Quito during the Ecuador-Peru peace talks, took office as president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, 22. His main challenges include moving forward with the modernization of the institution and increasing trade with Arab countries.
