The Egyptian producer of olive oils, olives, peppers, dates, herbs, and spices participated in the APAS Show in São Paulo and intends to export its products to the Brazilian market.
Egyptian international sales of dates reached USD 40 million last year, and the country’s Food Industry Export Council aims to reach USD 100 million by the end of 2024. The South American market is one of the focuses.
Despite being the world’s largest date producer, Egypt accounts for only 4% of the product’s global trade. But the country has pursued a strategy to produce more internationally demanded cultivars.
