In yet another clash between Brazilian and Arab teams, Brazil’s Palmeiras beat Egypt’s Al Ahly 2-0.
In Brazilian and Tunisian teams’ debut, the Rio de Janeiro side won 2–0. Palmeiras will face Egypt’s Al Ahly on Thursday (19).
The football tournament features five clubs from Arab countries and four from Brazil. Brazil’s Flamengo and Tunisia’s Espérance face off on Monday (16).
In the Club World Cup semifinals, Al Hilal beat Flamengo 3-2 at the Ibn Battuta stadium in Tangier, Morocco. The Saudi team will head to the final and face off against the winner of the match between Real Madrid and Al Ahly.
Competition starts on Wednesday (1) in Tanger with a game between Al Ahly of Egypt and Auckland City of New Zealand. Flamengo plays on February 7.
Liverpool vs Flamengo will feature referee Abdulrahman Al Jassim and assistants Taleb Al Marri and Saoud Ahmed Almaqleh.
