The 51st edition of the premier shoe industry exhibition in Brazil will run from June 3 to 5 in São Paulo. Doha-based retail company 2point has been invited, alongside guests from 16 different countries.
Q1 saw 774,000 pairs of shoes shipped from Brazil to the Arab country, up 127% from a year ago.
The first two months of the year saw 690,700 pairs of shoes shipped, up 167% from a year ago. Revenues came out to USD 4.57 million, up 117%.
Hanox Shoes, with stores in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, UAE, has three buyers scouting the footwear industry show in São Paulo.
The 46th edition of the international shoe and leather industry show will run from January 14 to 17 at São Paulo’s Expo Center Norte. It will see over 2,000 international companies looking to buy, including four from the UAE, three from Saudi Arabia and one from Egypt.
Meetings and technical visits were held in São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul with representatives of NTDE Group between December 10 and 14. Estimates for the sales turnover are about 50 thousand pairs, amounting to USD 1.25 million.
The month ended with 10.54 million pairs of shoes shipped, up 6,6% year-on-year. Foreign sales had been on a downward slope since May.
A representative for Dubai’s luxury brands conglomerate Chalhoub is going to manufacturing plants in São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul to look at footwear for children and women.
Brazil exported USD 93.77% worth of footwear last month, up 31% over September and up 0.2% over October 2017.
Foreign sales totaled USD 71.4 million in September, a drop of 26%. However, exports to the United Arab Emirates rose.
In August, there was a 7.5% decline in volume and a 9.2% drop in revenues in comparison to the same month of last year.
Sales from Brazil to the Arab country totaled USD 6.46 million from January to July, a decline of 17.4% over the same period of 2017.
Brazilian products represent 60% of total shoe sales in the 30 stores of department store chain Almoosa. The company’s director general is at Francal seeking new deals. The sector’s expo runs until this Thursday in São Paulo.
