In meetings with authorities in Egypt this week, Brazilian minister Marcos Montes suggested increasing and simplifying Egyptian licenses to meatpacking plants in Brazil in order to increase supply as a way to deal with the surging prices.

In a seminar held by the Arab Brazilian Chamber in Cairo, the Brazilian Agriculture Ministry presented growth prospects for Brazil as a global food supplier and Egypt’s relevant role as a fertilizer supplier to Brazil.
Agriculture, Livestock and Supply minister Marcos Montes met on Monday (9) in Cairo with Egypt’s fertilizer exporters about scaling up the supply. They are expected to visit Brazil for meetings with buyers.
This saturday (7), a Brazilian mission, including minister of Agriculture Marcos Montes, visited Arab Potash. Company executives spoke on plans to increase fertilizer supply, open a branch office, and possibly produce in Brazil.
