Saudi Arabia’s National Water Co. announced it has planted the trees as part of the country’s initiative to plant 10 billion trees. The regions selected regions surrounding the water treatment plants, so that the trees are nourished with treated water.

Trees were planted in the Botanical Garden to mark the national date of Bahrain and Martyrs’ Day.
Saudi Arabia’s crown prince said the country will work to lead the coming green era. The megaprojects announced last week are set to plant 50 billion trees and reduce carbon emissions by 60% in the Middle East.
