Over the millennia, frankincense has been a symbol of Arab countries like Oman and an economic mainstay of farmers in Somalia and Sudan. The sap is the raw material of incense, but its trees are endangered due to the overexploitation.
Amazon Week will take place at the Brazil Pavilion of Expo 2020 from December 1 to 7. Visitors will have the opportunity to digitally plant trees across the Amazon Rainforest and the United Arab Emirates.
A survey by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) shows that planted forests are concentrated in the south and southeast regions.
