Brasília – The Brazilian telecommunications industry saw record-high investment during quarter one this year. From January through March, the industry received R$ 5 billion (US$ 2.2 billion), up 4.1% from the same period in 2012.
According to the National Union of Telephony, Mobile and Personal Services (SindiTelebrasil), in the last four years, R$ 86 billion (US$ 38.5 billion) were invested in telecommunications in the country.
Quarter one gross revenues stood at R$ 55.1 billion (US$ 24.6 billion), up 5.2% from quarter one 2012’s R$ 52.4 billion (US$ 23.4 billion).
