São Paulo – This evening (9th) will see the launch, at bookstore Livraria da Vila, in the southeastern Brazilian city of São Paulo, of three books about Arab culture. "A Arte do Zajal" (The Art of the Sajal), by Michel Sleiman, "O Intelecto em Ibn Sina" (The Intelect in Ibn Sina), by Miguel Attie Filho, and "O Simbolismo dos Padrões Geométricos da Arte Islâmica" (The Symbolism of Geometric Patterns in Islamic Art), by Sylvia Leite, deal with philosophy, poetry and geometric shapes, important forms of expression in the history of Arab culture.
The launch will be promoted by Ateliê Editorial, Centre of Arab Studies at the University of São Paulo, with support from the Institute of Arab Culture. The books are the first three issues in the Collection of Arab Studies, a series dedicated to studies related to Arab culture. The launch should take place at 07:30 pm and admittance is free.
