Brasília – The trade balance surplus of Brazil (the difference between exports and imports) reached US$ 284 million in the first week of this month. This information was disclosed today (9) by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
Between March 1st and 8th, exports totalled US$ 2.682 billion and imports reached US$ 2.398 billion. In the accumulated result for the year, up to the first week of March, Brazilian exports had totalled US$ 22.052 billion and imports, US$ 20.525 billion. Thus, the trade surplus this year reached US$ 1.527 billion, 5.3% less than that registered in the same period last year (US$ 1.613 billion).
