Brasília – The Brazilian trade surplus reached US$ 2.278 billion in June, as a result of US$ 17.095 billion in exports and US$ 14.817 billion in imports. It was the second best result of the year, second only to last month, when the figure was US$ 3.444 billion, as informed today by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
From January until June, the accumulated trade surplus was US$ 7.887 billion, and the average per working day was US$ 64.1 million. The figure was 43.7% lower than during the same period of last year. Exports totalled US$ 89.189 billion and imports, US$ 81.302 billion.
The complete Brazilian trade balance data will be disclosed on the Ministry’s website today at 03:30 pm. At the same time, the assistant secretary of Foreign Trade at the Ministry, Fábio Faria, will hold a press conference to comment on the trade balance figures.
