Brasília – The Brazilian balance of trade showed a deficit of US$ 265 million in the third week of the month, from the 11th to the 17th. Exports totalled US$ 3.018 billion and imports, US$ 3.283 billion. The average deficit per working day was US$ 66.3 million, as a result of US$ 754.5 million in exports and US$ 820.8 million in imports, using the same basis of comparison.
From the beginning of the year until October 17th, the trade balance recorded a surplus of US$ 14.189 billion, as a result of US$ 154.120 billion in exports and US$ 139.931 billion in imports. The average surplus per working day was US$ 71.7 million, a figure 36.9% lower than in the same period of last year.
At 03:00 pm today (18th), the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade would announce detailed information on the Brazilian trade balance up until the third week of October.
