São Paulo – Ten travel agents from Brazil’s CVC tour operator are boarding a plane for Tunisia this Saturday (9th). They will stay in the North African country until next Thursday (14th), taking tours as leisure tourists would. The trip, known as famtour, is organized in partnership with agency Tunisia Tur and airline Royal Air Maroc.
According to CVC, the agents going on the famtour are from the states of São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro. The operator told ANBA it already sells packages to Tunisia, but it’s important to have its professionals visit the destination to see the tourist spots, logistics and operation in the country. “This way, CVC can replicate the knowledge to its salespersons network and ensure better service to customers interested in the destination,” the company said in a press statement.
The agents will travel to Tunisia this Saturday and their schedule in the Arab country will begin on Sunday, with a visit to the ruins of Carthage and the village of Sidi Bou Said. On the same day they will go to the Bardo National Museum, in Tunis.
On Monday (11th) they will visit the El Jem amphitheater. Then, in Douz, they will take a camel tour through the dunes. On Tuesday (12th), the schedule includes trips to oases and to Ong Jmal, where “Star Wars” was shot. On Wednesday (13th), the travel agents will see the great mosque of Kairouan and a carpet making cooperative. On Thursday (14th), the final day in Tunisia, they will take a walk through the alleys of the Medina of Tunis.
The land-only package “Tunísia Fantástica” (Portuguese for Fantastic Tunisia) lasts eight nights. As of last Friday (8th) it cost R$ 3,821.22 per person (US$ 1,257.72 at current exchange rates).
