São Paulo – The Tunisian Navigation Company, which operates in the passenger and cargo transport sector in the Arab country, is auctioning two vessels, a dry bulk carrier and a ferry for passenger and car transport. The deadline for the proposals is June 5th this year, according to the embassy of Tunisia in Brasília.
Dry bulk carrier M/V El Kef was built by the Japanese Kurushima Dockyard and acquired by the Tunisian company in 1982. The vessel is 182 metres long, 23.06 metres wide and 14 metres deep. The vessel’s gross tonnage is 17,066 tonnes.
The vessel has five operating cranes capable of carrying up to 22 tonnes each, a Sulzer 6RLA66 11,100 HP engine, three Yanmar 6GL-HT generates, with 552 kilowatt capacity, on General Motors emergency generator, with an 81-kilowatt capacity and a Cochran boiler. The vessel also has complementary navigation equipment.
The M/V Habib car ferry was built by the German Nodiskrug Werft-Rendsburg, and delivered to the Tunisian Navigation Company in May 1978. The vessel’s gross tonnage is 18,168 tonnes, the length is 143.3 metres, the width, 23.50 metres, and height, 8.35 metres. It was designed to transport 1,450 passengers.
Passenger accommodation includes four VIP cabins, 114 cabins with four berths, two cabins with two berths, two restaurants, each seating 250 people, a lounge bar with 240 seats, as well as other bars, a discotheque and a swimming pool. The ship can transport 400 cars. There are four main 6,000 HP Wartsila engines, as well as generators and other equipment.
