São Paulo – The Brazilian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Agriculture and Livestock announced on Monday (25) the conclusion of a sanitary negotiation that will allow Brazil to export live birds to the United Arab Emirates. According to the statement, since the beginning of the current government in 2023, Brazil has already opened 404 markets across 71 destinations.
According to the ministries, the agreement allows Brazil to export birds to the UAE for ornamental purposes, conservation in zoos, and other uses, but does not cover animals for slaughter or egg production for consumption. It also does not include domesticated birds.
According to the ministries’ data, last year Brazil exported over USD 3.3 billion in agricultural products to the UAE, particularly meat, sugar, and coffee.
