Dubai – The population of the United Arab Emirates has reached 9,304,277 people on December 31, 2017, a 2% increase over 2016, according to data from the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA). The information was published by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The country has 6,415,942 males and 2,888,335 females, with the gender split being 69% male and 31% female, according to the data.
According to WAM, the UAE is one of the region’s first countries to reveal demographic information based on national administrative data methodology.
“Since the inception of the FCSA, one of our strategic objectives has always been to spare no effort in evolving and modernizing the statistical ecosystem in the UAE in accordance with the best and most advanced global standards and best practices,” said Abdulla Nasser Lootah, FCSA Director-General.
