São Paulo – The United Arab Emirates pledged the allocation of USD 2 billion for Mauritania, an Arab country in North Africa. The announcement occurred last Sunday (2) during the encounter of president of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani (pictured above) with crown price of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Ghazouani is in tour to the UAE.
The UAE official news agency, Emirates News Agency (WAM), reported that the allocation includes funding investment and development projects, as well as a soft loan. Ghazouani took office as president of Mauritania in August 2019, in what was the Arab country’s first peaceful transfer of power.
