São Paulo – Enrolments for the Dubai International Award for Best Practices to Improve the Living Environment will be accepted until March 31st, according to information released this Friday (14th) by the United Nations Brazil website. This is the tenth edition of the prize awarded by the emirate of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, and the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat).
According to the UN site, eligible parties include public, private and academic institutions, non-government organizations, media outlets, and natural persons. The awards will be presented to 12 outstanding initiatives for their contribution to human and urban development. Winners will receive a cash prize, a certificate and a trophy during a ceremony in Dubai.
Still according to the UN website, aspects such as sustainability, positive impact, association with various urban players, innovation, gender equality and portability will be assessed. The latter concerns the possibility of the initiative being replicated elsewhere.
