São Paulo – The Brazilian Under-20 national football team is going to play the world championship for the category next month in Egypt, an Arab country in North Africa. The competition takes place from September 24th to October 16th and involves players up to 20 years of age. The Brazilian team is coached by Rogério Lourenço.
Aside from Brazil, the South American teams of Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela are going to participate. Argentina is currently the world Under-20 champion, but is not going to play the games this year because it did not qualify to the South American championship. From the Arab world, in addition to Egypt, which is the host, the Emirates national team is also going to play.
Other participating teams are Uzbekistan, Australia, South Korea, Ghana, Cameroon, South Africa, Nigeria, Costa Rica, Honduras, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States, the French Polynesia, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the United Kingdom and Spain. The matches will take place in Cairo, Alexandria, Suez, Port Said and Ismailia.
The Brazilian team has already begun practicing. This month, a few friendly matches were played in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
