Rio de Janeiro – Joblessness rate growed back in Brazil after two consecutive decreases, ending the three months through January in 12%, a 0.3% climb over the 11.7% registered in the three months through last October. This increase meant a jobless population of 12.7 million – a 2.6% growth (more than 318,000 people) over the quarter from August to October of 2018.
These data are part of the national household sampling survey (PNAD Contínua) and were released this Wednesday (27) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
