Brasília – The new minister of Labor, Ricardo Berzoini, speaking at the National Labor Forum, declared that this year the priorities are reforms of labor laws and union organization. He said he hopes both reforms will be completed by the end of the year.
The reforms were begun by former Labor minster, Jacques Wagner, at the request of president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
Berzoini said union organization will be first. "Negotiations are already in an advanced stage. We have a broad agreement of labor, management and the government. We intend to have a bill in congress next month," he said, adding that the labor law bill should be ready by March.
