São Paulo – Vale do Rio Doce produced 319.2 million tons of iron ore in 2014, an increase of 6.5% in comparison to the 2013 performance. According to the production report released this Thursday (19th), in the Q4 of 2014 alone, 82.9 million tons were produced, the best performance of the company for this period of the year.
The iron ore pellets Vale plant in Sohar, Oman, reached last year its best performance since its opening in 2012. According to the report released by Vale, the Oman plant produced 8.6 million tons in 2014, or 4% more than 2013.
The Brazilian mining company also reached production records of nickel, copper and gold. Even with these results, the company’s preferred shares (without voting rights) listed on the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) fell 2.51% at R$ 19.06 (US$ 6.68).
