São Paulo – Agrale, a Brazilian maker of tractors and other vehicles, has just released new models of tractors powered by biodiesel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). They are small sized vehicles, turned to farming and to use in closed environments, like industries, airports and logistics companies.
The development of the 4000 line, according to the company, took three years and permits the use of up to 5% biodiesel mixed with common diesel. Biodiesel is a fuel of vegetable origin, produced from plants like palms, castor seed and soy.
According to the company, the tractors are turned to small and medium farms. The power of the models varies form 14.7 to 30 horsepower and the maintenance cost is low.
The other model, 4100GLP, LPG-powered, was created, according to the company, for use in sites where low-level emission of pollutants and low noise are required.
According to Agrale, as it is quieter than other tractors, the model is recommended for use in closed environments, including hospitals, clubs and condominiums. The 4100GLP is equipped with a 16.2 horsepower engine.
Agrale was established 40 years ago and is based in the city of Caxias do Sul, in Rio Grande do Sul. The company has four industrial units, three in Caxias and one in Manaus, in the northern Brazilian state of Amazonas, as well as a distribution unit in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Apart from tractors, the company also makes lorries, chassis for mini buses, the Marruá jeep, engines, scooters and also assembles motorcycles by brands Mv Augusta, Cagiva and Husqvarna in Brazil.
