São Paulo – Brazilian vehicle production dropped by 14.6% in April, compared with the result for the preceding month. According to data disclosed today (6th) by the National Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea), 290,000 units were manufactured last month, as against 339,600 in March.
However, in comparison with April 2009, when 253,900 vehicles were made, there was growth of 14.4%.

Anfavea’s figures also show that exports of vehicles and agricultural machinery have dropped in April, when compared to the previous month. Foreign sales totalled US$ 917.4 million last month, a figure 8.7% lower than the one recorded in March (US$ 1 billion).
SO far in April, however, the results are positive. Exports have totalled US$ 3.51 billion, 58.3% more than in the same period of last year, when the figure was US$ 2.22 billion.
