Brasília – The sale of new vehicles dropped 5.2% in May as against the previous month. Sales in the month totalled 316,233 units against 333,738 in April. In comparison with May last year, there was growth of 10% in sales.
In the accumulated result for the year, sales totalled 1,480,445 vehicles. The figure corresponds to 8.6% more than from January to May 2012, when the volume reached 1,363,716, according to information disclosed on Wednesday (6) by the National Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea).
Production grew 0.3% in May, with 348,070 units, while in April, production totalled 347,122 vehicles. In comparison with May last year, the figure rose 21.8% and, in the accumulated result for the year, 18.6%, with 1,535,982 units produced, as against 1,294,825.
