São Paulo – Motor vehicle sales were up 18.6% in October from September. According to a monthly report released this Wednesday (7th) by the National Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea), 341,644 new vehicles were sold in October, as against 288,108 in September. Compared with October last year, sales were up 21.8%. Year-to-date, sales were up 5.7%, at 3,130,944 units sold from January to October this year, as against 2,963,273 in the same period last year.
Output was also up in October, at 318,701 new units manufactured, as against 282,540 units in September, a 12.8% increase. Output was up 20.2% from October last year. Year-to-date, output was down 3.3% at 2,781,574 units manufactured, as against 2,875,857 from January to October 2011.
