São Paulo – Way Back, a company that supplies solutions in credit and collecting in the city of São Paulo, saw the demand for services in the Arab world expand this year. The company works on credit recovery and elaboration of reports on companies. According to the Marketing and New Business manager at Way Back, José Bacci, this year the demand for commercial and financial reports about companies in the Arab world has grown. The service is normally sought by Brazilian companies that plan to export to the region and need further information about the Arab player.
Way Back is Brazilian, but is part, as a shareholder, in an international network called TCM Group, which has agents in 155 countries. Thus, Way Back can supply services both for credit recovery and also international reports, abroad, due to the partnership with agents. In the Arab world, TCM Group has representation in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia and Qatar. But even in other countries of the region, the company can offer services through agents who are closer.
Credit recovery abroad is normally requested by Brazilian companies that did not receive payment for their exports. According to Bacci, the demand for this kind of service in the Arab world, however, up to now, has only reached "very few cases", as the Arabs tend to be good payers. Apart from the strict laws, the Arab culture demands correctness in business, explained the consultant for international affairs at Way Back, Sérgio Pereira. In reports, however, Way Back has already had requests for reports about companies in the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
According to Bacci, the region of the world where there is greatest demand for credit recovery is the United States. One of the reasons, explained Pereira, is that in the North American market there is great ease to open companies. Brazil also exports a great volume of products to the United States. Cases of default in export payment normally take place, according to Bacci, when the sale is made without the due guarantees. Among the sectors that most face this kind of problem, in Brazil, according to Pereira and Bacci, are the textile and ornamental stone sectors.
Since September last year, when the international financial crisis began, Way Back has grown much, as, with the difficulty for payment, the service provided by the company has also risen. "We doubled the number of employees," explained Bacci. Due to this, Way Back has grown significantly and now wants to open new markets to continue the process for growth. The company provides services for companies – of all sizes and has 18 years of experience in the market.
Recently, the company entered a new sector, which is credit recovery for banks and financial organisations. Way Back also has a service called Law Office, in which it supplies judicial collection services. This work can also be developed in other nations. The payment of Way Back services is according to success, with a percentage of the amount recovered. In Brazil, the company has branches in the cities of Porto Alegre, Blumenau, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Recife, Salvador and Fortaleza, and a total of 160 employees.
