Rio de Janeiro – The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) has reported this Thursday (29) that the average income of employed persons in Brazil, inflation discounted, was up 33.1% from 2003 to 2014, having gone from R$ 1,581.31 (US$ 613) to R$ 2,104.16 (US$ 815.7), a R$ 522.85 (US$ 202.6) increase.
The data are from the Monthly Employment Survey, which also shows that from 2003 to 2014, the habitual income of domestic workers (inflation discounted) increased the most (69.9%) out of all activity types surveyed.
In December 2014, the average habitual income (not considering extra income) of employed persons was R$ 2,122.10 (US$ 822.76). The amount is down 1.8% from R$ 2,161.93 (US$ 838.1) in November and up 1.6% from R$ 2.089,57 (US$ 810) in December 2013.
