Rio de Janeiro – In October, the official Brazilian inflation rate, measured by the Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA), was 0.26%. Despite the increase from September’s 0.08%, the 0.26% rate is the lowest for an October since 2000 (0.14%).
The data was made public this Wednesday (9) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Year-to-date, the IPCA is at 5.78%, well below the 8.52% in the same period of 2015. Year-over-year it stands at 7.87%, below the 8.48% of the previous 12 month-period.
