São Paulo – Applications opened on Monday (26) for the 2027 cycle of the Zayed Sustainability Prize, which in its 18th edition will distribute USD 7.2 million across six categories: Health, Food, Energy, Water, Climate Action, and Global High Schools. According to the organizers, small and medium-sized enterprises, non-governmental organizations, and high schools are eligible to apply.
Applications close on June 15 and may be submitted in Portuguese. Entries must demonstrate measurable results and meet the prize’s criteria: impact, innovation, and inspiration. Each category winner receives USD 1 million. Schools compete in the Global High Schools category, with each receiving USD 150,000. The prize also provides financial support to finalist institutions.
At the ceremony for the 2026 cycle, held earlier this year in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, the Brazilian company Stattus4 won in the Water category. Jade, a health technology company, won in the Health category. Founded in Brazil, Jade is headquartered in the UAE.
