São Paulo – The internationalization plans of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) are a priority for its president Celso Moretti, especially regarding the United Arab Emirates. According to him, the approximation with the Arabs has been established since 2018 and resulted in a technical mission of Brazilian agricultural organizations to the UAE last week.

São Paulo – Giving voice to his life cause drove Fernando Botelho to apply for a grant of Expo Life, the social-environmental branch of Expo Dubai 2020. He is the only Brazilian to be selected by the program so far, and the result was ‘Letícia,’ an artificial voice that makes technology accessible to the visually impaired.

Zayed Sustainability Prize 2021 opens submissions

 | São Paulo – The Zayed Sustainability Prize opened submissions for organizations and high schools last Monday (27). The award recognizes pioneering sustainability projects across five categories: Health, Food, Energy, Water, and Global High Schools. Entries this year are being accepted until May 21st on the Prize’s website.

Egypt expanded grain storage capacity

São Paulo – Egypt expanded its grain silo storage capacity by 5.9% in 2019, Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram reported based on a cabinet statement. Capacity went from 3.4 million tonnes to 3.6 million tonnes at the end of 2019.

Brazilian companies participate in Dubai healthcare shows

São Paulo – The Brazilian Medical, Dental, Hospital and Laboratory Equipment Manufacturers Association (Abimo) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) participate with Brazilian companies in Arab Health industry show in Dubai, which has started last Monday (27). The participation is promoted by the Brazilian Health Devices project of Abimo and Apex-Brasil, with the goal to foster exports by the Brazilian healthcare industry.

Saudi coffee production expected to reach 300 tons in 2020

São Paulo – The coffee production in Saudi Arabia is expected to surpass 300 tons by the end of 2020 due to increased production in the Jazan region (pictured) in the Southwest of the Arab country, near the border with Yemen, with just over 120,000 residents. The 7th Coffee Beans Festival starts on January 30 and runs until February 5 amid these expectations.
